Teaching: Basics in HRI

So the first semester of teaching my first self-developed course on “Basics in Human-Robot Interaction” is over and I am very happy with the outcome :-). It was a small course with only 7 attendees, but that offered the really great opportunity to work on their first interdisciplinary HRI project. We used Lego Mindstorm for rapid prototyping and students had one semester to perform a full (small-scale) user-cetnered design cycle, including problem statement development, scenario & persona development, prototyping, evaluation plan set-up and user study conduction. Moreover, we discussed one relevant HRI paper in every unit and I gave a topic-related lecture.

Let’s wait and and see what the next semester brings 🙂
